Spear Fishing Event

Weather is Great! Viz in the Gulf is above average! The water temps are in the mid to high 70's! Sounds like a perfect time for Calypso Divers 1st Spear fishing Event of 2013!!!

Logistics:

The "shooters" are to be "self-contained", meaning that they have all necessary equipment for the trip, including spear guns, weight, breathing gas and dive equipment. Two tanks of air are included in the cost and must be picked up at Calypso Divers.

This will be a 2-tank trip in 60' of water or less, depending upon weather, visibility and sea conditions.

Each diver spear fishing must posses a valid Florida fishing license and their certification card. These will be checked prior to departure.

There will be a cooler for the fish on the boat. Successful divers should bring cooler for transporting their catch, and a filet knife, plastic bags and ice for cleaning their catch, if desired.

We should be back at the dock at around 12:30 PM.

Cost : $85.00 plus tax

Prize: Free shaft for largest fish (Boat Captain will be sole judge)

Shark Tooth Dive First trip was a hit***So we scheduled another

Here is the information on the Shark Tooth Dive:

Date: May 25th

Cost: $65 per diver

Meeting place: Sarasota County park alongside the Intra-Coastal Waterway in Nokomis to board the boat. (Address is 100 Casey Key Road, Nokomis.)

Meeting time: 8:00 AM first boat

Equipment Included: Tanks (air) and weights will be provided as requested. Any additional equipment should be acquired by the divers prior to boarding. Small mesh collection bags are recommended for carrying the "catch."

Description of site: This will be a boat dive. Dives are 20' - 25' deep and 45 - 60 minutes of dive time in an area known locally as "The Boneyard."

Please note: Divers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present at boarding to sign a liability waiver. Certification cards will be checked prior to boarding.
