Instead of spending several hours in the classroom, you may complete the 1st step on your own, starting RIGHT NOW!
After enrolling, PADI's eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace. Our Instructors are available to help you with ANYTHING you may need additional help on! PADI eLearning is designed to be convenient and easy-to-use. You will be able to access eLearning anywhere you have a PC with an Internet connection - for the rest of your life!.
Also, you will be able to complete eLearning entirely on your own schedule--there are no class times or places to meet. eLearning will keep track of your progress, and you can begin again where you left-off.
Schedule your swims and floats prior to your pool sessions we will fit you for your rental equipment an expertly fit you for your mask fins snorkel and booties.

eLearning utilizes multimedia to enhance the experience of learning how to dive. This includes:

* Multimedia content, including pictures and video clips
* Links to more-detailed explanations of relevant information
* Instant feedback on quizzes and tests (the Website will correct your tests for you, and indicate the correct answer if you did not select it)
* Contact with dive instructors from Calypso Divers (the dive center you will be affiliated with)
* A narrator, to read the course information aloud to you
* Access to dive tables and or a dive computer simulator (Calypso divers uses exclusively dive computers)
* Links to equipment knowledge and understanding

Weekend Format (requires a minimum of 4 students)

* First Weekend - afternoon pool dives
* Second Weekend - open water dives (2 each day)

Weekday Format (requires a minimum of 4 students)

* Monday/Tuesday - afternoon pool dives
* Saturday/Sunday - open water dives (2 each day)

What's included?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course online is includes your knowledge development training and gives you unlimited access to an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook) all of your pool sessions, rental equipment, boat trips and certification card, you purchase scuba quality mask ,fins, snorkel, booties and logbook. That's it, no hidden fees, you learn in our indoor heated pool, use high quality Aqua Lung equipment and dive with Suunto computers... it doesn't get much better than that!
eLearning will challenge you to master (and, through testing, demonstrate) course material. Through lessons and evaluations, you will deal with the information in eLearning much the same way you would with the traditional dive courses (taught with a workbook). As with traditional classroom dive instruction, passing scores on quizzes and tests will be required to complete the current eLearning program.The courses are not without a little bit of fun, though, too--the multimedia content helps to keep things lively and interesting.

For those who do not have internet access, you have the option to join one of our weekend group classes and with other like minded student divers participate in lively classroom sessions then transition to our in-door heated pool to learn the art of diving and continue your FUN!
The traditional method of instruction also a two weekend cycle where you do academics and pool the first weekend and two dives each on Saturday and Sunday on a subsequent weekend. Prior to coming to your first class meeting you will have to complete the reading the books, and complete the chapter reviews (5) be fitted for your equipment schedule and complete your swim and float in our indoor heated pool then you attend classroom sessions with an Instructor. One of our PADI Instructors will review the chapters and the safety concepts with you and give you the quizzes and final exam, This is performance based, therefore the time spent will vary according to student understanding. We will take two full weekends which will be completely fullfilling and fun

The traditional academic method uses:
* PADI Manuels and DVD
* Classroom study and face to face instructor interface
* Quizes and final exam
* Instructor elaboration
Weekend Format (requires a minimum of 4 students)

* First Weekend - Morning academics afternoon pool dives
* Second Weekend - Open water dives (2 each day)

Your educational materials will include the latest edition of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and PADI's How To Use and Choose a Dive Computer
Prior to your first class meeting you will need to complete your independent study by reading both manuals and completing 5 knowledge reviews ( The knowledge reviews are your admission pass to the classroom sessions). We also ask that you schedule your 200 yard swim and 10 minute float prior to class in our in-door heated pool. If not completed when you picked up your educational materials we will fit you for your rental equipment and expertly fit you for your mask fins snorkel and booties.

Regardless of the option you choose - you will need your own mask, snorkel and fins. We will help you select high quality equipment and the correct gear that fits properly and will last for years and carries our famous extended warrantees!
