The PADI SCUBA TUNE-UP consists of two-parts
- Knowledge Review Portion
- Confined Water Skills Portion
KNOWLEDGE REVIEW PORTION
The guidebook is designed for independent study and you can complete this portion at home. The guidebook portion consists of six sections:
- Safe Diving Practices
- Dive Planning Fundamentals
- Problem Management
- Breathing Air at Depth
- Recreational Diving and Dive Tables: Basic Knowledge
- Recreational Diving and Dive Tables: Dive Planning
We may schedule one (1) evening at the dive center to accomplish several items:
- Review any concepts you found challenging in the guidebook
- If you require the use of scuba gear we will fit you for gear
- If you have your own gear, bring it in for a cursory look over
- Collect your paperwork
CONFINED WATER SKILLS PORTION
The confined water portion of the Scuba Tune-up will take place at a local pool. We will review the skills taught in the Open Water Course.
(Optional open water dive can also be scheduled with a minimum of two (2) students – extra charge will occur).
STUDENT PREREQUISITES
- Certified Scuba Diver of any training agency
- Fill out required paperwork: Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding, Liability Release and Express Assumption of Risk, Medical Statement.
- Prior to entry into the pool, complete the Scuba Tune-Up Guidebook
STUDENT EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Scuba quality: Mask, Fins, Snorkel, and Booties Ask about our Student equipment special.
CALYPSO DIVERS WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING
- Buoyancy Compensator (BC) w/integrated weights or BCD with weight belt and weights (if needed)
- Scuba Unit -Regulators and gauges (if needed)
- Wetsuit (if needed)
- Air Cylinder
- Classroom session, Pool Session
Cost: $75.00 (not including Optional Open Water dive)
